Yesterday was the first time my childhood dog has ridden in the truck for probably close to 6 years. She really enjoyed it. She’s 15 now, has troubles seeing, walking and breathing, but she really seemed to enjoy being back there again. When she was much younger, we used to go on long drives together. She loved it, and still does by the looks of it.

My mother was unsure about me taking her, as she can’t balance well. I lifted the poodle in, and went like 5mph around a block. After I lifted her out, she would not leave the side of the truck, obviously hoping to go out again.  

I wish she could come for another long drive with me, but I don’t think that is ever going to happen again.

Nice. My brother’s very sweet golden retriever was just bred with a standard poodle. If all goes according to plan, we’ll have a little goldendoodle puppy at the end of the year!

Aw! I love goldendoodles. I would totally get one but the whole hypoallergenic thing is kinda 50/50 from what I hear.

Love Standards.

My girl (parking lot rescue, Jack/Beagle probably) was really struggling earlier this year. Road trips used to be some thing we really both enjoyed, but she had deteriorated mentally to the point where nothing seemed to give her pleasure. Finally let her go.

We never really gelled, I should have found her a better home when I found her, but I’ll always miss our road trips.
